ORWC Benefit Dinner at Mad Mex, Shadyside on March 4, 2014

The Ohio River Watershed Celebration (ORWC), an annual cruise on the Gateway Clipper Fleet, is holding a Benefit Dinner at Mad Mex Shadyside, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Fat Tuesday, March 4th, 2014 at 7pm.  A three course buffet dinner will include one adult beverage.  ORWC is accepting a $50 tax-deductible donation for dinner reservations.  100% of the proceeds of will go towards this year’s watershed celebration.  Valet parking is available.  Unfortunately, this facility is not handicapped accessible and space is limited.  Make your reservation early!

ORWC rejoices the successes that Ohio River Watershed communities, business, industry, and governmental agencies have realized in cleaning up their environment through partnerships and perseverance.  ORWC is a free, public event has grown to over 700 participants annually in the last 12 years.  Accordingly, the budget has also grown.  In order to continue offering this event at no cost to the public, ORWC relies on sponsors.  In 2013, the cruise cost approximately $32,000.00 and 100% of that came from generous donations from the many partners including private business and citizens, industry, and foundations.  2012 sponsors included: CONSOL Energy, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Seneca Resources, Peoples Natural Gas, Range Resources, BioMost Inc., Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds, Stream Restoration Incorporated, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, West View Water Authority, Michael Baker Corporation, Pennsylvania American Water, Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh, Three Rivers Regatta, G.A. Wonzniak & Associates, Weavertown Environmental Group, Pennsylvania Environmental Council, River Salvage Company Inc, Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh, Marcellus Shale Coalition, American Water Works, ANGA and others.  

There are several levels of sponsorship for the ORWC with benefits ranging from guaranteed reservations at the event, a banner displayed on the ship itself, logos in all promotional materials, and spoken recognition during event announcements, to an opportunity to give a short presentation to event attendees.   ORWC is fortunate to add Big Burrito Restaurant Group, the owner of Mad Mex Shadyside, to the list of sponsors through hosting a benefit dinner a Mad Mex Shadyside.
